Air compressor energy saving ideas, how to reduce production costs

Air compressor is one of the general equipment in the manufacturing industry. To do a good job in the energy-saving management of air compressor is a necessary work to realize the power saving of enterprises. In order to save production costs, it is urgent for enterprises to equip with energy-efficient air compressors. So how to make the air compressor save energy?



1. Control leakage

It is estimated that a 1mm ² Under the pressure of 7bar, the leakage volume of the small hole is about 1.5l/s. Check all transmission pipe networks and gas consumption points, especially joints, valves, etc., and deal with the leakage points in time.



2. Pressure drop treatment



Set up a pressure gauge through the pipeline section to detect the pressure, check the pressure drop of each section in detail, and check and maintain the problematic pipe network section in time. Generally, the pressure drop from the outlet of the air compressor to the gas consumption point cannot exceed 1bar, strictly or even not more than 10%, that is, 0.7bar. The pressure drop in the cold and dry filtration section is generally 0.2bar. The factory tries to arrange an annular pipe network to balance the gas consumption pressure at each point.



3. Adjust the pressure matching of gas equipment



Evaluate the pressure demand of gas equipment, and try to reduce the exhaust pressure of air compressor under the condition of ensuring production. When the exhaust pressure of the air compressor decreases by 1bar, the energy saving is about 7~10%.



4. Adjust unreasonable gas consumption behavior



For example, it is forbidden for workers to use compressed air to clean dust on clothes.



5. Adopt centralized control mode



The number of air compressors is small, so one variable-frequency air compressor can be used for pressure regulation. If the number is large, centralized linkage control can be used to avoid the stepped exhaust pressure rise caused by the parameter setting of multiple air compressors.



6. Maintain and clean the equipment



Add cooling equipment or measures for the air compressor to keep the oil clean.



7. Waste heat recovery of air compressor



Recover the heat of air compressor oil to prepare hot water for other processes or auxiliary living facilities.



8. Replace the old air compressor



The electricity charge of air compressors accounts for a large proportion of the enterprise‘s cost. It seems to cost a lot to buy new machines, but tens of thousands of electricity costs can be saved every year.
